West Auckland is a haven to artists. The Ferns is within walking distance of the galleries and cafes in Titirangi Village.
The Centennial Memorial Park is easily reached from Titirangi. Take a drive along the Scenic Drive where you can glimpse great views of both the Manukau and Waitemata harbours. The Park covers an area of over 10,000 hectares and includes a large part of the Waitakere Ranges and some West Auckland beaches. With over 200 kilometres of walking and hiking trails, beautiful rain forest and the famous black sand beaches it's a popular place that Aucklanders as well as tourists love to visit. Begin at the Arataki Nature Centre (5kms along Scenic Drive) where you can enjoy the views from treetop viewing platforms and learn about the NZ bush along the Nature Trail.

Situated in the sub-tropical rain-forest of the Waitakere Ranges on Auckland's wild West Coast, Piha has one of New Zealand's top surf beaches with legendary sunsets.
With rugged cliffs and the majestic Lion Rock standing guard over the beach, the scenery is dramatic and inspiring. The beach is backed by the Waitakere Ranges, a protected parkland of sub-tropical forest, accessible through numerous bush tracks.
