At Taupo Horse Treks, we aim to provide a safe & enjoyable experience for all who ride with us. Whether your idea of fun, is a relaxing, quiet wonder through pine forest trails, or a more exciting canter through the forest we endeavour to provide either for you, in a safe and organized fashion.

We have a herd of 36 horses, all having their own delightful personality.(more... in Our Horses) Most of our horses are suitable for beginners, young or old, these horses are reliable & quiet. We also have a number of more advanced horses, for those with previous experience. You will be accompanied on your trek by one or more of our professional guides.
Our guides are capable, careful riders, with a good knowledge of our horses & their individual personalities. Our head guide Vicky is great with the children, usually providing some laughs, with her antics on horseback. We will take children as young as 4 to 5 years of age on their own horse on the treks, or we can provide a 20 min' lead line pony ride, as an introduction to horse riding. Come & have some fun with us and enjoy the unique scenery.
