Moose Head Lodge is located in the old gold prospector’s Alpine village of Tanjil Bren, only 2 - 21/2 hours drive east of Melbourne, in the Baw Baw ranges. It is a still undiscovered place of fresh air, clean water, and tranquillity in the heart of the forest. At Moosehead Lodge, you can relax in rustic luxury.
The lodge was built in 1996. Living, dining, and kitchen are in one huge open plan room, which has a big fireplace. Firewood is supplied and burning upon your arrival in cold weather. A wood box is located adjacent to the combustion heater, so there is no chopping wood or going out in the cold to bring in fuel. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second bedroom has two single beds, and the two upstairs bedrooms have double futons. Solar power provides electricity and gas is used for cooking and the fridge.
