A lovely 1700 stone farmhouse set in its own grounds situated in a tiny hamlet 3 km from the old town of Jonzac in lovely, sunny Charente Maritime. Beautifully furnished rooms with lovely views of the garden and area. All centrally heated and cosy in winter but wonderfully cool and light and airy in summer. Plenty of shade in the garden if required. The house is surrounded by vineyards and fields of sunflowers. There are large woods nearby to wander in and search for ceps or wild flowers. We are near the A10 if you are driving and the airports of Bordeaux, Rochefort and La Rochelle are 50 minutes away. Breakfast is continental style with fresh bread, croissants,cereal, fruit and yoghourt with fruit juice, tea or coffee. An evening meal can be ordered the day before if wanted, this is Sometimes a Barbecue in the grounds. Warm welcome from English and French speaking hosts. Two friendly, fat cats are in residence so no-one with cat allergies should apply! They are not in the bedrooms but are downstairs. |
