Award-winning restaurants and cafes are all within easy walking distance, most within 2 blocks. Ferry,bus, train and other facilities are within 5 minutes walk of 'THE GABLES'.Our guest rooms are upstairs, and have been named to recognise the previous families who have owned 'THE GABLES'. The large 'Townshend' room (previous Mayor of Picton) has tea and coffee making facilities, small pink tiled fireplace, an ensuite bathroom and firm queen size bed. The large 'Thomson' room has a firm queen size bed and two single beds, private bathroom across the hallway, and tea and coffee making facilities. The 'Findlater' room is comfortable with a double size bed and ensuite bathroom, tea & coffee making facilities. Breakfasts are special at 'THE GABLES' - after fruit juice, fruit platters, cereal, home-made muesli, you will be offered a choice of our legendary bluecod and smoked salmon crepes, banana pancakes with maple syrup, or traditional bacon and eggs. Delicious home made muffins are baked fresh every morning, to be enjoyed with freshly brewed coffee or a selection of teas. The lounge, with open fire, TV, piano, reading material, tea and coffee making facilities, is where we enjoy a pre-dinner drink with our guests. You are likely to be met by our very friendly black spaniel, Blackie, or Penelope the cat. Off street parking. Smoking area on front porch. |
