Places to Stay Things to Do Lavender-Thomas Homestay |
This wonderful historical homestay is a colonial treasure. Built on Napier hill in 1854, it has been fully restored and renovated to today's accommodation expectations.
The furnishings are stylish "olde worlde" with much attention to detail and visitor comfort. There are three spacious double & Queen rooms with well-appointed ensuite facilities.
For those guests who desire a little more privacy there is a delightful "boudoir suite", with separate entrance, in the old maids quarters at the rear of the house. Perfect for the romantically inclined.
The Victorian style lounge has large comfortable sofas and armchairs, elegant dining area, and a log fire for cooler evenings. French doors open onto a sunny verandah, where you are welcome to relax and unwind and perhaps enjoy an afternoon tea served with homemade cookies and muffins after a busy day exploring the delights of the Hawke's Bay region.
The home is beautifully situated within rambling gardens. Abundant with native trees, fruit trees, cottage gardens and much bird-life. A Scottie & Westie are in residence as is an unobtrusive cat. |
