Places to Stay Things to Do Shotover Lodge |
the Winners of a New Zealand Tourism Award and a Travel & Leisure Magazine 'Worlds Best Award'.
Enjoy the tranquil location of Shotover Lodge, in the country, but very convenient to Queenstown, only five minutes away.
Recognizing that holidays are a time to linger over meals & enjoy new flavours, food is given top priority here. Describing this, the highly regarded Frommers New Zealand Guide said, "superb cooks………..you’ll eat like kings".
The atmosphere is that of an elegant country house. Imagine standing at cliff top.… rolling lawn tumbles dramatically to the Shotover River below, revealing a truly majestic alpine panorama.
The design of Shotover Lodge as a collection of buildings enhances privacy.
Spacious suites, each with a private balcony or courtyard are detached from the main lodge.
If, far from home you long for familiar comfort – just the right pillow, a fluffy robe, king or queen bed, & fine linen – your comfort is assured
Very conveniently located, Queenstown’s most popular activities - Shotover Jet, horse riding, the white water rafting base & four restaurants are within walking distance. A heli-pad is available for flights to Milford Sound & heli-skiing. Hiking & mountain biking trails lead directly from the lodge.
Skiers will appreciate that Shotover Lodge is distinguished as the closest luxury lodge, to Coronet Peak, Queenstown’s premier ski resort.
Lodge facilities include a guest lounge with log fire, bar, billiard room, wine cellar, library, clifftop hydrotherapy jacuzzi and a drying room for outdoor clothing.
Shotover Lodge is an unbeatable package of features you will love. |

Two very good restaurants are located within walking distance of the Lodge [a 2-minute drive]. One of these, 'Gantleys’ Historic Restaurant has six times received an award from Wine Spectator Magazine for having ‘one of the most outstanding wine lists in the world’. As many other excellent restaurants are located only 5 minutes away in Queenstown, the Lodge dining room is not open in the evening |
