Places to Stay Things to Do House of Glenora Historic Homestay |
|
Welcome to the House of Glenora, one of Marlborough Sounds historical homes. Built in 1860 and surrounded by a sprawling garden that is situated in the heart of Picton, yet very secluded and peaceful. Scandinavian creativity and NZ hospitality is blended into a colourful and vibrant home with a difference. As Birgite is a Masterweaver, House of Glenora incorporates the International Weaving School, studio and gallery. The large bedrooms offer extensive living areas, wide sunny verandas and patios are decorated with a stunning mixture of antiques and contemporary pieces. Enjoy the magnificent views of Picton harbour and relax in the delightful garden with its 140 year old English oak tree. Central heating, laundry facilities and of course, the Swedish style 'smorgasbord' breakfast together with the warm and vivacious feeling of House of Glenora and the beauty of Marlborough Sounds will surely make your stay here a memorable experience. We wish you welcome. Winners of the Marlborough Awards 1993 and 1997. |
