What a VIEW!

Déjà Vu was designed and built in 1993. It was a desire by us to open up our home as a bed and breakfast to enable our guests to enjoy with us what we believe to be the best views of Lakes Entrance. It is built on four levels and has three studio suites attached to the main building. The Executive Suite features a main double bedroom with ensuite and spa, extra large lounge and a balcony. Studios feature split level living, balcony and spa.

All suites have panoramic views. For 1998 we have added two new rooms – the Garden Room (small but attractive and only $135 per night per couple incl. cooked breakfast) and a Studio/Executive Room (beautifully appointed and secluded amongst the treetops with excellent views across the water). As one of our international guests informed us, something like our Studio/Executive Room is normally only found in the south of France. Because of the sheer structure of the building, we encourage adults only and maintain a non-smoking environment.

Built on 2½ hectares of undulating land with rainforest and wetlands, we have an abundance of birds and wildlife on or adjacent to the property – including a family of kookaburras that wake up each morning at dawn and laugh their heads off. They tend to wake up the rest of the bird life such as the pelicans, sea eagles, swans, water hens and all the other non swimming native birds in the area and they delight our guests with their morning lyrics. After a delightful day, enjoy a moonlight spa. Drift off to sleep while enjoying the twinkling lights of Lakes Entrance reflecting on the shimmering water and awaken to the soft glow of the rising sun. Besides the birds and sun to make you rise and shine, we pride ourselves with presenting you a great breakfast served on the balcony overlooking the lake.

Our menu offers fresh fruit and fruit juice for starters, followed by the cereal of your choice, eggs, bacon and sausage done any way you wish, fruit crepes with honey, toasts and jams, tea or coffee. Casual refinement at an affordable price… We will be pleased to advise you on different locations in the township where you can feast for lunch or dinner with either take away or top cuisine food and drinks. We have two barbecues for your use – just in case you wish to 'put a shrimp on the barbie'. A canoe is also available if you like paddling across the lake to a nearby shop and obtaining morning papers.

We also provide you with maps and brochures of local attractions showing you what is available for your entertainment during your stay. These include raft trips, galleries with hands-on demonstrations of glass blowing, chain saw sculpture, pottery and silversmithing. Horse and carriage trips through the bush or 4WD drives of coast, hinterland and Snowy River country. Lunch or dinner boat cruises can be made to a nearby winery. (We will transport you so you can enjoy that extra glass). Visit the historic homestead of the area, caves, plane joy rides etc. – not forgetting refreshing walks along unspoilt beaches and tranquil rainforest gullies. If you are travelling by coach or plane, just phone us when you reach this destination and we will arrange to transport you to Déjà Vu.
