We, John and Evelyn Lowery, live in Alexandra, Central Otago, are retired with business interests and involved with several community affairs such as Lions, Bowls, LODGE, 4Wheel driving and Classic cars.
We welcome you to our home which offers space,own private bathroom including shower and spa bath,toilet and own private lounge with TV and large fire for warmth. There are two bedrooms available one twin and one double. The section is nicely laid out with lawn and well established gardens with a private BBQ area and lawn that opens out on to a large greenery reserve leading to public sporting complexes, including an artificial ice skating rink, squash court, cricket, football and bowling greens, with fabulous views of the surrounding hills which are snow covered in the winter. Alexandra serves a large Cherry, Stone and pip fruit growing industry in the rich irrigated valleys, with more recent large areas being planted in grape vines with a major wine industry being developed. The area has many large scale fine wool sheep stations with some of the finest Merino wool in the world being produced here. There are many walking tracks, 4 wheel drive trips into the surrounding hills with spectacular views, hydro electric tours, wine tasting, excellent golf course,good shopping and restaurants, with the famous Olivers restaurant only minutes away at Clyde near the Hydro Dam.
We are situated less than an hours drive from Queenstown and Wanaka tourist centres, which offer excellent ski fields and good fishing lakes. Dunedin City is two and a quarter hrs drive and has an international airport. Our climate consists of hot dry summers, dry cold winters, frosts and snow on the near hills.
We provide pickup from Queenstown and Dunedin.
