Finnimore House is a large, comfortable Victorian villa, and one of Wellington's historic homes. It was built ca 1870 for Sir Julius Vogel (an early Prime Minister of NZ) and is surrounded by Wellington's green belt and drenched in all-day sun. We are five minutes drive from the centre of Wellington (a half-hour easy walk) and ten minutes from the airport and ferry terminals. We are on the public bus route (bus stop outside the house), and also offer secure off-street parking for guests. Just above central Newtown, we are very close to Wellington Hospital, Massey University and the NZ School of Dance and Drama. Your hosts offer a warm Irish welcome, and invite guests to share in stimulating conversation in our family living room, or enjoy the warmth and privacy of your own rooms. We are happy to arrange or advise on activities for guests to do while in Wellington - your hosts know Wellington inside out and love their city!

The guest wing has private facilities, a TV, microwave and provision for making tea and coffee. Lloyd is a photographer with over 30 years experience photographing the New Zealand landscape. He would enjoy taking guests on local photographic or tramping tours. Sheryl is a teacher. Travel, entertaining, tramping, skiing, photography and music are some of the interests we enjoy together and look forward to sharing with our guests. - We ask that guests do not smoke indoors. - Dinner available on request.
