In the heart of the Clare Valley lies Thorn Park Country House, a truly magnificent country home of traditional Australian style. Set in 60 acres of pastoral splendour it boasts tranquil vistas of undulating farmland studded with towering gums, grazing sheep and a dam; home to native ducks and other birdlife. The homestead was built in the 1850's from stone quarried on the site and was extensively restored in recent years to its original magnificence. The tranquil gardens feature hawthorn, elms and roses; a surround to the homestead in the traditional manner. The house spreads itself to include six bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, with accommodation for 12 guests. The reception areas include a spacious drawing room, intimate library and magnificent art collection. David and Michael are devoted to memorable dining, with food prepared utilising fresh, local produce. Meals are accompanied by the truly magnificent wines of the Clare Valley region.
